Lula Belle Harrah

WARREN - Lula Belle Harrah, 79, passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2013, at her home in New Port Richey, Florida. She was born July 21, 1934 in West Virginia and was the daughter of Regal Delmar Harrah and Alva Margaret Williams.

She received her GED in 1966 and graduated from Warren Beauty School and was a licensed beautician and was a retiree from General Electric Ohio Lamp Plant in Warren, after 35 years where she started in production and inspection and pioneered as the first female mechanic and painter. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and was known for her roses. She also enjoyed traveling, shopping, and was an excellent cook. She was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church in Newton Falls, and the 20 year club at General Electric.

Memories of Lula will be carried on by her son, Richard (Karen) Harrah, of Warren, granddaughter; Jennifer (Bradley) Heilman, two great-grandchildren; Addison and Ethan, Newbury, OH, brother; Earl (Shelba) Cook, of Meadow Bridge, WV and a sister; Elizabeth (Edward) Warsick, of Parma, OH

Proceeding her in death was her mother, Alva Williams Twohig, and step-father; B.E. Twohig, and brothers; Charles E., Kermit D., and Donald E. Twohig.

A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church, 309 N. Park Ave, Warren, OH, 44483 on January 4, 2014, at 1:00 PM, with Rev. Rick Oaks officiating. Friends will be received at the church one hour prior to the service. Entombment Services will be held privately at Crown Hill Burial Park and Mausoleum in Vienna.

Among the many charities she donated to: Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Easter Seals, American Heart Assoc. and American Cancer Society.
