Louise W. Waxminsky

Louise W. Waxminsky, 87, of Cortland, died 4:55 PM Sunday, January 30, 2005 at St. Joseph's Health Center in Warren. She was born Thursday, December 20, 1917, in Youngstown, the daughter of the late John and Anna Szymczyk Wojnarski.

Mrs. Waxminsky was a member of St. William Parish in Champion and a graduate of both Southington Chalker High School and Warren Business College. During World War II, she worked at the American Red Cross. For 42 years, she was office manager for Warren Engineering. After retiring, she volunteered in the St. William's office for many years; volunteered for Mobile Meals for 15 years; was involved with the National Shrine of Our Lady of Lebanon, the Women's Guild of St. William's, AARP, Scope of Warren, and was a 60-year member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. She was also an active gardener and loved flowers.

Mrs. Waxminsky is survived by a sister, Blanche Yannucci of Warren; a brother, Henry Wojnarski of Warren; numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews; and many devoted and loyal friends.

Mrs. Waxminsky is preceded in death by her parents; her husband John Waxminsky, whom she married September 15, 1951 and who died March 29, 1981; five sisters: Bessie Wielbruda, Helen Gierlach, Mary Sliver, Anna Elliott, and Pauline Ferry; and three brothers: Stanley, Frank, and Joseph Wojnarski.

Mass of the Christian Burial for Mrs. Waxminsky will be 10:00 AM Thursday, February 3, 2005 at St. William Parish, 5411 Mahoning Ave. N.W., Warren, Ohio 44483, with Fr. Michael Smar officiating. Interment will follow at All Souls Cemetery in Cortland. Friends may call 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday at McCardell-White-McFarland Funeral Services, 271 North Park Avenue, Warren, Ohio 44481, and 9:00 to 10:00 AM Thursday at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a favorite charity.
