Louise H. Gilbert

WARREN - Louise Gilbert, 96, died on October 25, 2014 at her home. She was born June 28, 1918 in Salem, Ohio, the daughter of the late C. Raymond and Ethel Howell Gilbert.

Louise graduated from Hiram College in 1939, and taught one year at Warren Business College. She worked also as a bookkeeper at the W. B. Gibson Company, and worked 40 years at Union Savings & Trust Company retiring in 1984. Louise was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Warren, also having served on the Board of Deacons, and as secretary of the Kirk Club.

Some of her favorite pastimes were reading, golf, bowling, and, she was an avid bridge player.

Memories of Louise will be carried on by nephews; John (Pam) Banks, Russell (Karen) Banks both of Champion, Mark (Nan) Robinson of Brighton, MI and Dan (YiMi) Robinson of Ann Arbor, MI, nieces; Mary Lou (Jerry) Mejeur of Marion, OH, Nancy (Roger) Rhodes of Bluffton, OH, Marcia (Seldon) Plumley of Richmond, VA, Jan (Robert) Whaley Fairport, NY, and sister in law; Martha Gilbert of Bristolville, all who loved and cared for her as a member of their own family.

Louise is the last of her family being preceded in death by; her parents, a baby sister, her brother; George Franklin Gilbert, and husband; Robert B. Anthonsen.

At Louise's request, there will be no services and cremation has taken place with burial at Hope Cemetery in Salem, Ohio.

Her family wants to recognize the love and care she received from All Caring Hospice of Canfield, OH, the Windsor House of Champion, and, especially the staff at Champion Estates Assisted Living where Louise made her home.
