Louis M. Ritz

Louis M. Ritz, 87, of Warren, died 4:20 AM Wednesday, December 8, 2004 at St. Joseph's Health Center. He was born Sunday, May 20, 1917, in Uniontown, Pa., the son of the late Nicola and Carmela Basile Rizzo, and lived in the area since 1944.

Mr. Ritz had been self-employed as a builder in the area for many years. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, and a former member of the Knights of Columbus and the Carpenter's Union. He had also been a baseball coach for many years at all levels from Little League through Pony League.

Surviving Mr. Ritz is his wife, Helen Miller Ritz, whom he married November 18, 1944; four children: Theodore N. (Darlene) Ritz, Ronald D. (Nancy) Ritz, James L. Ritz, and Sandra M. (Kenneth) Kistler, all of Warren; two grandsons: Matthew Ritz and Joshua Kistler, both of Warren; three great-grandchildren: Nicholas, Andrew, and Ryan Ritz, all of Warren; and a sister, Rose (Gene) Davenport of San Francisco, California.

Preceding Mr. Ritz in death are his parents; a brother, Archie Ritz; a sister, Rose Rizzo; and a grandson, Ronald D. Ritz, Jr.

Services for Mr. Ritz will be 1:00 PM Saturday, December 11, 2004 at the chapel at Pine Knoll Cemetery in Leavittsburg, with Fr. James P. Walker of SS Cyril and Methodius Church officiating. Interment at Pine Knoll will follow the service. Friends may call 5:00 to 7:00 PM Friday at McFarland and Son Funeral Home, 271 North Park Avenue, Warren, Ohio 44481.
