Louis Krivanek, 87, of Champion, died Monday, January 16, 2012 at home. He was born July 6, 1924 in New York, New York, the son of Louis Joseph and Rose (Volf) Krivanek, and had lived in Trumbull County since 1964.
A World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy, Mr. Krivanek worked as an engineer for Taylor Winfield, Omega Induction, and Ajax Tocco Magnethermic. He was a life member of the American Society of Metallurgical Engineers, a thirty-five year member of the Warren YMCA, and a member of St. William Parish. He enjoyed reading, computers, traveling, home repairs, and was a strong advocate for individuals with autism.
Surviving are his wife, Joan (Reinfurt) Krivanek, whom he married November 15, 1952; four children: James K. (Linda Ruse) Krivanek of Canfield, Judith Lynn McNeish of Newark, Ohio, Jan Louise (Mark) Ferrara of Masury, and Paul James Krivanek of Youngstown; nine grandchildren: Chris and Matt Krivanek, Kaitlin and Connor McNeish, Theresa (Jason) Davies, and Marykatherine, Joe, Alex, and Maddie Ferrara ; and a sister, Mildred Rose (Jaroslav) Bocek. An infant grandson, Joshua Ferrara, precedes him in death.
Services are 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 20, 2012 at St. William Parish, 5431 Mahoning Ave. N.W., Warren, Ohio 44483, with Fr. Michael Balash officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow at All Souls Cemetery. Friends may call 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Thursday at McFarland & Son Funeral Home. County Line Rd., Mineral Ridge, Ohio 44440, or to the Champion Township Fire Department, 139 Champion Ave. West, Warren, Ohio 44483.
