Lori Jo's Poem

September 9th was the day
I passed away,
My family loved me, so it
was all okay...
I had just turned 51, it was a day of fun.

WARREN - Lori Jo Given, age 51, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2013. Lori Jo was born on September 2, 1962, and she was the beloved daughter of John and Nedra (Young) Given.

Lori Jo was a graduate of Fairhaven School, where she was the Prom Queen. She was a participant in the "Special Olympics" where she won many medals for swimming. Lori Jo was also a member of the "Explorers", a unisex branch of the Boy Scouts.

Lori Jo was always happy and carefree with a beautiful smile. We often joked that Lori Jo was Mom and Dad's "best" and favorite child. She was an avid skate-boarder, bowler, and softball player. She loved puzzles, snakes, Elvis Presley, and KISS. Lori Jo and her family were seasonal campers at Ridge Ranch for many years, and she and her mother were dedicated bingo players.

Lori Jo was greeted in Heaven by her loving mother, Nedra. She is leaving behind, her loving and devoted father, John, who rarely missed a day of special "father/daughter" time. She was also loved and will be missed by her sister, Evelyn Coe, a brother, Sam (Patty) Given, a niece and nephew, Chelsea and Alex Coe. Lori Jo will be missed by all her aunts, uncles, and many cousins. She also leaves behind many special friends from the Boyd's Kinsman Home, and Community Skilled Health Care Centre. The family would like to thank the staff at both facilities. Their love and dedication over the years has enriched Lori Jo's life in many ways and touched the hearts and lives of her family.

Family will be receiving friends on Friday, September 13, 2013 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm at McFarland & Son Funeral Home in Warren, with a Memorial Service to follow at 4:00 with Pastor JoAnn Gibson officiating.
