Lois A. Tallurico

Lois A. Tallurico, 75, of Cortland, died peacefully at home Monday, December 12, 2011. She was born April 15, 1936 in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of William and Gertrude (Brockman) Wollenberg, and had lived in Trumbull County since 2009, coming from Illinois.

A graduate of Harrison High School in Chicago, Mrs.Tallurico had worked in Illinois for Alden's and Wieboldt's before retiring from White Hen Pantry, where she was known for making the best sandwiches. She enjoyed reading, pottery and other bowl crafts, and had been a den mother for cub scouts.

Surviving are a son, Richard N. (Donna) Tallurico of Cortland, with whom she made her home; a sister, Laverne Kopchick of Joliet, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death are her husband, Ronald J. Tallurico, whom she married September 15, 1956 and who died January 29, 2000; and a sister, Elaine DeMaria.

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted 3:30 p.m. Friday, December 16, 2011 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home. Friends may call 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
