Leonard H. Hardin

Leonard "Bill" Hardin, 81, of Warren, died Saturday, July 26, 2008 at Gillette Nursing Home. He was born July 31, 1926 in Linden, Tenn., the son of Samuel and Alice (Tomerline) Hardin.

Mr. Hardin was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army and worked for 33 years as a millwright for Republic and LTV Steel. A member of Bazetta Baptist Church, he enjoyed spending time with his family and at church activities. He also enjoyed baseball, especially the Indians and Scrappers, and shooting.

Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Brenda Gail and Thomas Allen of Warren; a daughter-in-law, Marilyn Hardin of Cortland; six grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death are his parents; his wife, Jessie Ellie (Lineberry) Hardin, whom he married December 25, 1948 and who died November 8, 2004; a son, William D. Hardin; a daughter, Martha Catherine Hardin; a sister; and two brothers.

Services are 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, with Rev. Stanley Mink of Bazetta Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Meadow Brook Memorial Park. Friends may call 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Material contributions may be made to Harbor Light Hospice, 734C Alpha Drive, Highland Heights, Ohio 44143.
