Leon W. Morrison, Sr.
Leon W. Morrison, Sr. age 61 of Niles, Ohio went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on May 12, 2006 after a courageous battle with cancer. Leon was born July 27, 1944 in Rainelle, WV to Opal Gwynn and the late Robert F. Morrison. He served his country in the U.S.M.C. from 1961 to 1970 with 14 months in Viet Nam. He earned the rank of Sgt as a drill instructor in Parris Island, SC. Leon met and married Kathleen Van Ness on Feb 14, 1972 while serving on the Washington DC Police Dept as Youth Division Investigator. He was called by God into the ministry in 1976 and has served the Lord throughout West Virginia, El Paso, TX, and Paris KY before returning to Ohio. During this time he returned to work for the US Gov't as a Civilian Employee and his last fourteen years has been with the Defense Logistics Agency in Warren, OH. Leon retired with 30 years of Government Service in Sept. of 2005, but has stayed actively involved in the spreading of the gospel everywhere he went.
He will be greatly missed by his wife, and four children, Tech Sgt Leon W. Morrison Jr. and wife Rebecca USAF Albq. NM; Robert Allen Morrison and wife Nicole; Sarah Elizabeth Morrison and her Fiance, Jacob Ginkinger; and Margaret Marie Morrison and her boyfriend Jeff Carrozzi, all of Warren, OH. His seven grandchildren; Katie, Ryan, and Grace of Albq. NM; Robert Jr. (bugaboo), Malik, Ariaunna, and David of Warren will sadly miss their Pappa.
Funeral Services will be held at Tuesday at 1:00 PM, May 15, 2006 at the McFarland & Son Funeral Home, Warren. Friends may call Monday 6-8 PM and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Interment will follow at the Niles City Cemetery where full military honors will be presented.

His family and friends though saddened by his passing, rejoice in his homecoming knowing that Heaven was always his ultimate goal and join in with the Lord Himself saying "Well done thou good and faithful servant, you have been faithful over a few things; I will make you ruler over many things. Enter thou into the joy of the Lord."
