Leo P. Parker

Leo P. Parker, Sr., 82, of Warren, died Saturday, January 31, 2009 at Gillette Nursing Home. He was born October 8, 1926 in Altoona, Pa., the son of Paul V. and Elizabeth G. (Patsch) Parker.

Mr. Parker served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He had been in charge of the cleaning contract at Strauss's and Kaufmann's Department Stores, both in Warren and Niles. He enjoyed camping, fishing, playing Santa Claus, and had been active in a number of singles' groups over the years.

Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Leo P., Jr. and Rachelle E. Parker of Champion; two grandsons, Daniel Parker and David Sypert; and two brothers, Paul "Tiny" Parker of Orangedale, Calif., and Eugene Parker of Altoona. Preceding him in death are his parents and a brother, James Parker.

Services are private. Interment with full military honors will take place at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio. Material contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 1815 W. Market St., Suite 108, Akron, Ohio 44313.
