Larry Lee Preston

Warren, Ohio - Larry L. Preston, 77, passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2017. He was born on July 16, 1939 in Warren, Ohio, the son of the late Earl and Laura McElrath Preston.

Larry was employed by the Warren City Fire Dept., where he retired as a captain after 30 years of service. He was a passionate and avid golfer and hunter and enjoyed boating, fishing and water skiing. His family was the most important part of his life and he was very involved in the lives of his grandchildren.

He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1960 until 1966.

Memories of Larry will be carried on by wife, Judith (Howe) Preston of Warren, OH, daughter, Amie Preston (Ken) Tilley of Columbus, OH, son, Michael (Valerie) Preston of Raleigh, NC, grandchildren Rachel, Victoria, Noah, Sophie and Gabe Preston of Raleigh, NC and Mack Tilley of Columbus, OH, brother, Raymond (Nancy) Preston of Great Falls, VA, sister, Judith (Robert) Pearson of Vienna, OH, and brother James (Cathie) Preston of Bristolville, OH and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Laura and Earl Preston, brother, David Preston and sister, Janet Emerine.

Family will receive friends Friday, June 16, 2017 from 10:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. with service immediately following at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, 271 North Park Ave.,Warren, Ohio with Pastor Marc Runyan, Central Christian Church officiating.
