LORDSTOWN, OH - LaMarr A. Senne, 94, died peacefully Wednesday morning on April 3, 2013 at his residence. LaMarr was born on September 26, 1918 in Sandusky, OH, the son of the late Alfred and Henrietta Walker Senne.
LaMarr retired from Ohio Crating as a foreman carpenter. He was a Lifetime Member of the Lordstown Lions Club, where he enjoyed working Bingo and had received their prestigious Melvin Jones Fellowship Award. He also was a member of the VFW in Lordstown, and DAV. He was a longtime active member and usher at Christ Episcopal Church of Warren, and traveled to Guatemala to do missionary work in 1968. He enjoyed woodworking, making candles, volunteering at Mobile Meals, and New Lease on Life.
He bravely served his country as a combat infantryman in the US Army during World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart. On D-Day he parachuted behind enemy lines prior to the invasion to scout the Normandy countryside and guide Allied troops.
Memories of LaMarr will be carried on by his; wife, Margaret " Peg" Shirran Senne of Lordstown; three sons, Douglas (Mary ) Senne of Lordstown, Donald (Carol) Senne of Lordstown, and Richard (Amy) Senne of Warren. Also a brother; Donald (Janet) Senne of Sandusky, 3 granddaughters and 5 grandsons, 7 great grandsons, and 3 great granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Audrey Senne,
La Marr's family will receive friends Friday, April 5, 2013 from 6 pm - 8 pm at McFarland & Son Funeral Home in Warren and one hour prior to services in the narthex of the church. Memorial services will be held Saturday, at 11:00 am in the main sanctuary of Christ Episcopal Church in Warren. The Rev. Fr. Jeffery Baker will officiate, and inurnment will follow in the Christ Episcopal Church Columbarium.
Per La Marr's request his family suggest contributions be made in the form of donations to Christ Episcopal Church, 2627 Atlantic St. NE, Warren, OH, 44483.
