Kenneth G. Custin

Kenneth G. Custin, age 83, of Warren died Monday, January 9, 2006 at his residence. He was born April 1, 1922, in Warren the son of the late Karl G. and Berenice (Gilmore) Custin.

Mr. Custin retired in 2001 from Trumbull Industries as a manager. He was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church where he had served in most lay positions, including singing in the Choir and member of its Kirk Club. He sang for many years with the Stephen Foster Chorus and was a director of Oakwood Cemetery.

He served in the Army during World War II and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He was the Drum Major of the Warren G. Harding Marching Band and graduated in 1940. He attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and was a member of the Old Erie Lodge #3. F&AM, and the Warren Elks Club.

He is survived by his wife, the former Mary Jane Carnahan whom he married August 2001, Daughters Pamela (Gary) Gray and Sandra (Gale) Gray both of Howland Twp., Jane (Charles) Fuller of Albuquerque, NM and Son Scott (Sofia) Taylor of Portland, OR., sister Carol Jean Knowlton of Winchester, VA. Ten Grandchildren; Lee, Stephanie, Megan, Jared, Melissa, Katie Gray, Adam & Sarah Taylor, and Christian (Sky) & Anna Fuller. His first wife the former Juanita Kreider whom he married January 1947 died February, 1979 and second wife the former Margaret Jeanne Lewis died July, 1999.

Memorial Services will be held 1: 00 PM Friday, January, 13, 2006 at the First Presbyterian Church with interment preceding services at Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday 6:00 PM till 8:00 PM at the McFarland & Son Funeral Home. The Rev. Bert McGlawn and Anita Rayburn will officiate.
