Kenneth R. Cleaves

Caldwell, OH. - Kenneth R. Cleaves age 98, formerly of Warren, OH passed away Monday morning February 9, 2015 at Southeastern Med in Cambridge, OH. He was born January 28, 1917 in Bristol Township in Trumbull County, OH a son of the late Walter and Effie Garber Cleaves.

Kenneth served and protected his nation in the United States Army during WWII from 1942 to 1945 in the European Theater. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching all types of sporting events. He will be remembered as a faithful Cleveland Indians follower. He was a pet lover. He was a member for many years of the Calvary Presbyterian Church in Warren, where he served as trustee, deacon, and elder. He was recently a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Caldwell. He was retired from Van Huffel Tube Company in Warren, where he worked as a metal handler from 1950 to 1978.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Hazel Angstadt Cleaves, whom he married July 23, 1949 and who passed away January 24, 2001; 2 brothers Earl and Homer and 1 sister Grace.

Those left to cherish his memory are, 1 daughter Ruth Ann (Randy) Pearson of Caldwell and his cat Cali. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends.

Private inurnment with full military honors will take place at a later date at Crown Hill Burial Park, Vienna, OH
