Kathleen A. Kay

CORTLAND - Kathleen A. Kay, 66, died peacefully Thursday, July 4, 2013 at Laurie Ann Nursing Home. She was born on July 15, 1946 in Warren, Ohio, the daughter of the late Frederick and Christine Roman Meredith.

Kathleen was a member of the 1st Presbyterian Church and a founding member of S.O.P.H.I.A. (Stop One Place Help is Available Inc.) and volunteered her time freely to assist the less fortunate. In that capacity she served as treasurer, volunteer, interviewer and registrar and was a signer for their Articles of Incorporation. She was also a member of Morning Light Chapter # 80, Order of the Eastern Star, and the Ali Baba Grotto Auxiliary.

Memories of Kathleen will be carried on by son; Robert A. (Wendy) Kay of Petersburg, MI, daughter; Rebecca (Alfred) Rasmussen of South Whitley, IN, grandchildren; Gillian, Heather, Shannon, Paul, Joshua, Elizabeth, Patrick, and great-grandchildren; Landon, and Lilly, and sister; Theresa (Henry) Percich of Newton Falls, OH. She was preceded in death by her husband Ronald Kay and son, Steven Kay.

Family will receive friends Sunday, July 7, 2013 from 6:00 pm till 8:00 pm at McFarland & Son Funeral Home in Warren and again one hour prior to the service. Services will be held at McFarland & Son Funeral Home on Monday, July 8, 2013 at 11:00 am with Rev. Cowden of the 1st Presbyterian Church officiating. Services of final committal will follow at a later date at Howland Township Cemetery.
