Julia A. Alfred, 72, of Warren, died Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at Gillette Nursing Home. She was born August 30, 1939 in Weston, W. Va., the daughter of Kenneth J. and Bertha F. (Pratt) Alfred, Sr., and had lived in Leavittsburg most of her life.

A member of McKinley Community Church, Julia enjoyed puzzles, bingo, being with people, and her many activities at Gillette.

Surviving are two sisters: Janice (John) Griffith of Howland and Elaine (John) Rodriguez of Riverside, Calif.; and a brother, Kenneth J. (Sue) Alfred, Jr. of Gainesville, Va. Preceding her in death are her parents and a sister, Sharon Alfred.

Services are 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 6, 2012 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, with Rev. John Griffith, Julia's brother-in-law, officiating. Interment will follow at Pine Knoll Cemetery. Friends may call 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Material contributions may be made either to McKinley Community Church, 1524 Elm Rd. N.E., Warren, Ohio 44483, or to the Activity Fund, Gillette Nursing Home, 3310 Elm Rd. N.E., Warren, Ohio 44483.
