Joseph A. Persin

Joseph A. Persin, 95, of Taylorsville, NC formerly of Warren, OH died Thursday, January 5, 2006 at Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory, NC.
He was born on February 1, 1910, in Farrell, PA the son of Jacob and Elizabeth (Zuga) Persin.
Mr. Persin owned and operated the Carioca Gardens, attended St. William's Church in Champion, and was a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He married the former Caroline (Poncer) Persin May 16, 1931 who preceded him in death August 31, 2000.
He is survived by two daughters; Jean (Joseph) Phipps of Bazetta Twp., and Carol A. Ryals of Taylorsville, N.C., Son-Gary A. Persin of Warren, Ohio, Brother-Rudy Persin of Warren, Ohio, seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers Frank and Jack Persin and Grandson Alan Phipps.

Services will be held Monday at 11:00 AM at The McFarland & Son Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 9:30 AM to11:00 AM. The Rev. Fr. Michael Smar will officiate with final committal services being held at All Souls Cemetery. Material contributions may be made to the Building Fund of St. Williams Church, 5411 Mahoning Ave. Warren, Ohio 44483.
