Joseph S. Fuchilla, 63, of Warren died Friday May 23, 2008, at The Hope Center for Cancer Care. He was born June 14, 1944, in Warren, OH, the son of Michael and Martha (Lazor) Fuchilla.
After graduating from Harding High School, Mr. Fuchilla enlisted in the Army during the Vietnam War. While overseas, he received The Army Commendation Medal for Meritorious Achievement for fighting a fire in a Vietnam village near where he was stationed. After serving his country he went on to perform maintenance work at Champion Tree Service before working for Arby's Restaurant both as a crew member and in maintenance. Mr. Fuchilla was a member of the Newton Falls VFW 3332. He enjoyed NASCAR, The Cleveland Browns, country music and listening to his police scanner.
Surviving are his wife, Marguerite R. (Santell) Fuchilla, whom he married January 10, 1976; his daughter Kimberly (Glen) Fuchilla of Warren; two sisters, Sue (Rich) Sheldon and Dolores (Homer) Cleaves; a brother, Michael (Shirley) Fuchilla; and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, Michael and Martha Fuchilla
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2008, at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, 271 North Park Ave, Warren, Ohio 44481. Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home on Tuesday. Material contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society, Trumbull/Mahoning/Columbiana County Unit, 525 N.
