Joseph "Buddy" C. Day, 74, of Warren, passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at Hospice. He was born July 4, 1937, in Clarksburg, WV, the son of Joseph L. and Aretta G. (Furr) Day, and had lived in Warren most of his life.
Mr. Day retired from Everett Industries. Mr. Day enjoyed spending quality time with his family, tinkering with cars and model trains and attending church activities at the Warren Bible Methodist Church. He spent countless rewarding hours volunteering for the Warren Salvation Army. But to sum it up, "Buddy was a hard working, good Christian man that will be for ever missed."
On July 3, 1965, he married Sally A. (Foos) Day, and she preceded him in death on October 7, 2002. He will be dearly missed by his daughters, Ruth (Patrick) Cline of Warren and Dawn Hakeem of Howland; grandchildren, Tiffany (Justin) Chatmon, Sr., of Strongsville, Abigail and Noah Cline of Warren, and Hana, and Malik Hakeem of Howland; and one very special great grandson Justin, Jr. He was preceded in death by a son, Charles, his parents, sisters, Katherine and Hazel, and brother Larry.
Services are 1:00 pm, Monday, April 2, 2012 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Pineview Memorial Park. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home. Officiating the service will be Captains Charles and Misty Coffelt of the Warren Salvation Army and Pastor Daryl Muir of the Warren Bible Methodist Church. Material contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Youngstown, Ohio 44512.
