Jon Cverna

WARREN, OH - Jon J. Cverna, 73, passed away quietly on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at his residence. He was born on October 6, 1939 in Lorain, the only child of the late John "Jack" and Helen (Zelina) Cverna.

Jon was a graduate of St. Mary's High School in 1957 and earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Case Institute of Technology in 1961. He then went on to work at Wean Engineering for 31 years before his retirement. He was a member of St. Mary's Church in Warren. He loved music and even played several instruments. He was fascinated by technology, computers and was an avid amateur (ham) radio operator #K8AK, having kept his license until his death. He was a member of the Amateur Radio Relay League and the Navy MARS (Military Affiliate Radio System).

Memories of Jon will be carried on by his numerous cousins in Pennsylvania and Ohio. He will be sadly missed by many dear friends located locally, over the internet and his ham radio contacts.

Calling hours for Jon are on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 from 9:30 - 10:30 AM at McFarland & Son Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 232 Seneca NE, Warren, OH 44481 with Father Schmalzried officiating. Final Committal Service will be held at the All Souls Cemetery Chapel, Cortland.
