John R. "Jack" Robison, Jr., of Southington, died Sunday, April 13, 2008 at home. He was born June 13, 1919 in Southington, the son of John R. and Frances Almedia (Lauth) Robison, Sr., and had lived in Trumbull County his entire life.

Mr. Robison served with the First Division of the U.S. Marines during World War II, and was among the first Marines to arrive at Guadalcanal in the Asiatic Pacific Campaign. He was a Harley Davidson dealer, having owned local dealerships for both motorcycles and golf carts. A former volunteer firefighter in Southington, he was a member of the Elks Lodge and American Legion Post 751, Southington. He was a life member of the American Motorcycle Association and an original member of the Warren Buckaroos. He enjoyed golf and bowling.

Surviving are two grandchildren, Randy (Tracy) Kirnec of Southington and Wendy Jobes of Akron; four great-grandchildren: Brandon and Christopher Kirnec, and Grant and Brent Jobes; two sisters, Bernice L. Lehto of Florida and Lila M. Croston of Morgantown, W. Va.; two brothers, Richard L. and Joseph H. (Angie) Robison, both of Florida; a sister-in-law, Ruth Robison of Southington; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death are his parents; his wife, Virginia (Kisler) Robison, whom he married August 12, 1948 and who died July 25, 1972; his stepdaughter, Patricia Ann Morrow; and three brothers: Fred W., Leo A., and Bernard P. Robison.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, with Rev. Robert Culp officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow at All Souls Cemetery in Cortland. Friends may call 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Material contributions may be made to American Legion Post 751, P.O. Box 307, Southington, Ohio 44470.
