John R. Reed

Warren, Ohio - John R. Reed, Sr. , died Sunday, May 14, 2017 at his residence. He was born on June 1, 1933 in Warren, Ohio, the son of the late John and Martha Adams Reed.

John was employed by Republic/LTV/WCI as a Steel Worker. He graduated from Warren G. Harding in 1951. He married the former Francoise "Frankie" Hernandez on June 2, 1984 who preceded him in death on August 28, 1999. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Jefferson Democrat Club and SOAR Steel Workers who are affiliated with Local 1375.

Memories of John will be carried on by daughter, Paige Garrett of Phoenix, AZ, daughter, Denise Roberts of Phoenix, AZ, son, John R. Reed, Jr. of Belle Vernon, PA, and friend, Ida Mae Switter of Champion, OH. In addition he is survived by five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 9:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Warren, OH followed by a Mass of Catholic Services at 10 am, Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Warren. Father Bernard Schmalizreid will officiate. Services of final committal will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Warren, Ohio .
