John Edward Curry

April 28, 1953 — May 4, 2015

John Edward Curry of Niles, passed away at 1:04 a.m. on Monday, May 4, 2015 in the Cleveland Clinic. He was 62.

Mr. Curry was born in Niles on April 28, 1953, the son of Franklin D. and Florence E. Stigall Curry.

John was a 1971 graduate of Niles McKinley High School. Following high school, John went to work for Youngstown Sheet and Tube, where he was a laborer for many years.

Mr. Curry was of Christian faith. He enjoyed music, from listening to various artist, to performing Elvis songs, at numerous venues through the valley. John enjoyed watching television especially when his favorite actor, John Wayne was on. Friends and family meant the world to John, he particularly enjoyed the time he spent with his loving grandchildren.

He is survived by 2 daughters, Angela (Shawn) Helt of Niles, and Victoria (Paul Jr.) Stano of Warren; a sister, Beth (Glen) Ellison of Niles; 2 brothers, Matthew T. Curry of Niles and Joseph Beard; 5 grandchildren Plineth John Hinton, John Michael Helt, Nicole Lynn Stano, Ian Jacob Helt, and Ashley Grace Helt; a great grandchild, Gannon Eugene Leonard; a special aunt Marjory Heitman of Niles; John is also survived by his loving companion of many years Sydney Scaggs of Niles;

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by a brother, Joel Curry and an infant brother.
