John Rodney Banish

John Rodney Banish passed away peacefully from cancer at his home on February 18, 2005. He was born December 19, 1935 and was the son of the late Edward and Frances Zimmerman Banish.

He graduated from McDonald High School in McDonald, Ohio. Rodney retired from Packard Electric in 1995 after 30 years of employment. Rodney also worked for Van Huffel as well as the Ohio Leather Works in Girard, Ohio.

Rodney was an avid golfer and enjoyed skiing and playing softball. He had his pilot's license and was a member of the Vienna Fish and Game Club, where he enjoyed trap shooting.

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Banish. He is survived by his loving wife, Rosemary Davis Banish; one son, John Banish of Warren; one stepson, Michael (Cathy) Kitakis of Long Island, New York; a grandson, Michael Kitakis; and a granddaughter, Christina Rose Kitakis.

A memorial service with a celebration of his life will be held 6:45 PM Sunday, February 20, 2005 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, 271 North Park Avenue, Warren, Ohio 44481, with Father Frank Lehnerd officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home 5:00 to 6:45 PM Sunday. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Forum Health at Home-Hospice, 8747 Squires Lane N.E., Warren, Ohio 44484.
