Joanne M. Laverty

Joanne M. Laverty, 82, of Warren, OH, died Wednesday May 27, 2009 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital - Forum Health. She was born April 20, 1927 in Sharon, PA., the daughter of Bartholomew and Ethel (Green) Mitchell.

Mrs. Laverty was married to the love of her life, Thomas J. Laverty, on July 5, 1947. She was employed at Ohio Lamp and took great pride in being a homemaker for her family. Her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. She loved Myrtle Beach and vacationed there for 20 years with her husband.

She is survived by her son, Thomas (Yvonne) Laverty of Cuyahoga Falls, OH; a daughter, Marcie (Steve) Richmond of Warren, OH; four granddaughters, Stacey (Mike) Smith, Tiffany (Doug) Laney, Melanie (Joe) Flask, and Michelle (Steve) Poullas; three great-grandchildren, Emma and Nathan Laney and Ariana Flask. Preceding her in death are her parents and her husband Tom, who passed away on March 16, 2000.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 30, 2009 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, 271 North Park Ave., Warren, OH 44481 with Rev. Michael McLaughlin officiating. Interment at Pineview Memorial Park will follow. Friends may call 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday May 29, 2009 as well as one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
