CHAMPION, OH - Joanne Emery, 52, died peacefully at her home on December 5, 2012 with her family at her side after a courageous battle with cancer.

Joanne was born on March 11, 1960 in Warren, OH to John and Josephine (Verna) Wargo. She was a graduate of Warren Western Reserve and had worked for 22 years in the Engineering Department of Ohio Edison in Warren. She was well read, enjoyed shopping, loved chocolate and cafAC. mocha. Her favorite thing to do was traveling with her loving family, especially to Disney World.

Joanne is survived by her loving husband, Robert "Rob" Emery of Champion, whom she married on August 27, 1988 in Hawaii; a daughter, Melissa and a son, Robby, both of Champion. Also surviving are sisters: Elizabeth (Bill Ross) Cantelmo of North Jackson, Mary Wargo of Cortland, Theresa (Bob) Naylor of Vienna, Cecilia Cummins of West Farmington, Nancy Perko of Florida, Dolores Wargo of Warren, Concetta (Jeff) Pagley of Florida, Cindy Walker of Florida, and Loretta (Fred) Estlack of Cortland; and brothers: John (Pam) Wargo of Champion, and Danny Wargo of Girard. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Family and friends may gather on December 10, 2012 from 5 pm to 8 pm at McFarland & Son Funeral Home. Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on December 11, 2012 at Sts. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church with Father Andrew Deskevich officiating. Burial will follow at the Champion Township Cemetery.
