Joan Louis

Joan Horn Louis, 86, of Warren, died on Wednesday, May 2nd, 2007 at St. Joseph Health Center following a brief illness.

She was born February 13, 1921, in Cleveland, the daughter of the late Howard F. and Mary D. Horn. Joan resided in Howland Township for the past 42 years.

Joan Louis graduated from Bradford Junior College in Massachusetts in 1942. She worked at the Cleveland Clinic. She was very active in the community, including volunteering for 20 years at Trumbull Memorial Hospital, serving on the Transportation Committee at Blessed Sacrament Church as well as collecting for various health organizations including the American Heart Association.

A longtime member of the Trumbull Country Club, she thoroughly enjoyed playing tennis, bridge and golf. She was an avid reader and a devoted Browns fan.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Ernest James Louis in 1999 and by one brother, James E Horn.

She leaves two sons, Mark Louis (fiancee Susan Cherry) of Lakewood, CO., and Matthew (Gail) Louis of Warren, three daughters Claudia Louis (Sheldon Roseman) of Washington, D.C., Cynthia (Phil) Mohler of Columbus, and Melissa (Angelo) Caputo of Long Island, NY; and seven grandchildren, Travis and Mallory Mohler; David, Timothy and Jason Louis; and Jovan and Damian Caputo. A daughter, Laura Louis is deceased.

The funeral is 11:00 a.m. Saturday in The Church Of The Blessed Sacrament, 3020 Reeves Rd., Warren, Ohio. Burial will be in Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna. There will be no calling hours.
