Jerry Lang

Cortland, OH - Jerry Richard Lang, 84, passed away Friday, September 22, 2017 at the Burton Health Care Center. He was born on December 28, 1932 in Murray City, OH, the son of the late Samuel and Laura Sorrells Lang.

Jerry retired in 1996 from RMI Corp after 41 years as an Ultra Sound Technician and was a 1951 graduated from Mecca Centralized High School.

He served in the US Army during the Korean War as a Corporal in Heavy Motor Co. of the 145th Infantry.

He married the former Carol June Carter on November 5, 1955 and she preceded him in death on July 29, 2012. They were married 57 years.

Jerry was a Master Mason of the Cortland Lodge for over 50 years and a volunteer for the Mecca Volunteer Fire Department for over 20 years. He was a lifetime member of the Trumbull Rod & Gun Club.

He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed spending time with his family.

Memories of Jerry will be carried on by son, Brian Edward (Leann) Lang of Cortland, grandson, Thomas Dale (Laura) Raynor, Jr., and great-grandson, James Robert Thomas Raynor,

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Carol June Lang, son, Richard Samuel Lang, daughter, Helen Bonita Lang, and a brother, Lowell Lang,
