LORDSTOWN- Jeannine Imelda Bright, 80, died Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital. She was born, Rose Marie Imelda Jeannine Giard in Saint Roc de Richelieu, Quebec, Canada to Joseph Victor Emmanuel and Rose Amande` Victoria (Charbonneau) Giard on October 20, 1933. She and her family moved to Ware, Massachusetts in 1936 at which time her name was changed to Jeannine Imelda Giard. She married Kenneth Milo Bright on February 27, 1954 and moved to Ohio.
Jeannine co-owned and operated Bright's Produce in Lordstown beside her husband for several years, sharing her favorite canning recipes with many of the customers and other family members. She had been a member of Christ Our King Church for over 50 years and very active in the CCD program and the Altar and Rosary Society there and recently a member of St Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish. She was also a Cub Scout leader. Jeannine enjoyed looking at photos, playing cards with many of the ladies from her church, family, and friends. She would spent her days knitting or crocheting, watching her cooking shows, playing Bingo and cheering on the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Ohio State Buckeyes along with attending her children's and grandchildren's games. She spent the past several years researching family genealogy and enjoyed sharing the information and pictures with other family members along with helping her grandchildren with school projects, using the information that she had learned.
She was the mother of 11 children, Charleen Fluharty of Smiths Station, AL; Cindy Clonch of Lordstown; Cathleen Bright of Southington; Timothy (Betsy) Bright of Lockbourne, OH; Gary (Cindy) Bright of Wilton, Maine; Michael (Lucia) Bright of Warren; Lori (Lee) Blodgett of Lordstown; Kelley Bright of Niles; and Kenneth (Tiffany) Bright Jr of Crestview, KY. She is preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Marie and son, Terry Bright. She also leaves behind a sister, Marie Laurence Estelle Giard Wells and a brother Paul (Joan) Gerard Giard; sister-in-law, Joyce (Gary) McQuaid; 25 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-granddaughters, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her daughter and son, Jeannine is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Kenneth, a brother Joseph Bernard Giard and a great-granddaughter Emily Elizabeth Rose Fluharty.
Jeannine's family will gather to receive friends Tuesday, December 10, 2013 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at McFarland and Son Funeral Home, Warren. Services will be held Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at 11:00 am at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish @ Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, 185 Laird Ave. NE, Warren with Fr. Jeffrey Stealey officiating. Services of final committal will follow at Lordstown Village Cemetery
