Jeannette B. Simons

Jeannette Brown Simons, age 87, of Warren, died Tuesday, June 13, 2006 at Cortland Healthcare Center, surrounded by family. The cause of death was complications from Alzheimer's disease. She was born July 18, 1918 in Warren, the daughter of the late Robert and Lucy Craig Brown.

Mrs. Simons graduated from Warren G. Harding High School in 1936. She received a B.A. in English in 1940 from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority and had the time of her life.

A lifetime Warren resident, Jeannette was an active member of the Women's Auxiliary of Trumbull Memorial Hospital for more than 35 years. She had been active in Panhellenic, Junior Crafts, and the Trumbull Country Club Women's Golf Association.

Jeannette enjoyed her pets, travelling, especially to Ireland, New York, and to the ocean with family and friends, reading, and a good cocktail party.

She is survived by her daughter Jan Simons of St. Louis, Missouri, and her son Craig and Vicki Simons of Champion. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle Simons, whom she married July 19, 1946, and a brother, Dr. Robert C. Brown.

Services will be 5:00 PM Friday, June 16, 2006 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home. Interment will be 10:00 AM Saturday at Champion Township Cemetery. Friends may call 4:00 to 5:00 PM Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Welfare League, 545 Brunstetter Rd. S.W., Warren, Ohio 44481.
