CORTLAND - Jeannette F Dietz, 74, died Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at her home. Born on September 4, 1938 in Sharon, PA, the daughter of the late Wayland and L. Lucile Bates Dietz. Jeannette was a resident of Trumbull County for over 50 years.

Jeannette graduated from Warren G. Harding High School in 1956, and attended Baldwin-Wallace College. She graduated from Cuyahoga County Hospital School of Nursing in 1961, and Youngstown State University in 1965, earning a BS Degree.

Miss Dietz retired from Trumbull Memorial Hospital after 27 1/2 years of service as a Registered Nurse in the Maternity Department and taught Maternity Nursing at Trumbull Memorial School of Nursing. She also taught long term nursing care to adult health care aids in the Vocational Department at Warren City Schools as well as the Trumbull County Joint Vocational School.

Miss Dietz was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Warren. She was a Director of Subscriptions, Member of the Artist Selection Committee, and member of the Board of Directors of the Warren Civic Music Association. She was a member of the Trumbull County Historical Society, First United Methodist Women, American Association of University Women, and, Treasurer of the Warren Branch of American Association of University Women from 79-82.

Jeannette was a member of the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neo-natal Nurses (AWHONN), Coordinator of the AWAY Chapter of the Ohio Section, NAACOG (Nurses Association of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologist) 73-79, Vice Chairman of the Ohio Section; NAACOG 79-83, Chairperson of the Ohio Section, NAACOG 1983-1986, Planning Committee for District V Conference 80, Member of the District V Policy Committee 79-83, Chairman of the Ohio Section Conference 76-79, Member, Facility Development Committee, Trumbull Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, 80-83; Advisor of the Student Association, Trumbull Memorial Hospital School of Nursing 80-84.

Surviving Miss Dietz is numerous cousins and her foster family; Sang Lee. Preceding her in death are her parents, and foster sister, Jung Min Lee.

Friends may call on Monday, July 22, 2013 from 9:30 am - 11:00 am, at McFarland & Son Funeral Home in Warren. The Funeral Service will follow immediately at 11:00 am with Rev. Yesudas Devadan of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Final committal will follow after the service at Oakwood Cemetery in Warren.
