Jane D. Brown, 83, of Howland, died 1:30 AM Friday, May 12, 2006 at Gillette Nursing Home. She was born November 22, 1922 in Niles, the daughter of Richard J. and Edith Reeves Davis, and had lived in Trumbull County her entire life.
Jane was a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and a member of First United Methodist Church in Warren. She served with the U.S. Coast Guard Reserves during World War II. She had been a volunteer with the ladies auxiliary and the charity ball for Trumbull Memorial Hospital.
She is survived by two sons: Robert D. Brown of Pittsburgh and Timothy R. (Peggy) Brown of Avon Lake; four grandchildren: Robert G., Jennifer A., Eric D., and Samuel P. Brown; a great-grandson, Christian G. Brown; a brother, Richard Davis of North Carolina; and two sisters: Norma Pretot of Howland and Stephanie (Richard) Moore of Oxford, Ohio. Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband, Dr. Robert C. Brown, whom she married June 14, 1947 and who died June 7, 1993; and a son, David J. Brown.
Services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, May 16, 2006 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Howland Township Cemetery. Friends may call 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fairhaven Foundation, 45 North Rd., Niles, Ohio 44446, in memory of Jane and Bob's beloved son David.
