James E. Reynolds

CORTLAND - James E. Reynolds, Jr., 80, died Thursday, April 17, 2014 at his residence. He was born on March 22, 1934 in Minden, West Virginia, the son of the late James and Ethel Bennett Reynolds.

James was employed by American Welding. He loved to feed and watch the birds in his yard especially hummingbirds. He was an avid Cleveland Browns and Ohio State fan. He loved spending time with family and friends.

Memories of James will be carried on by sons, Richard Reynolds of Cortland, whom he made his home and Joe (Bernice) Reynolds of North Bloomfield; daughters, Ethel Marie Williamson of Warren, Christine Reynolds of Niles, and Loretta (Pete) Morris of Fayetteville, NC; 13 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, James E. Reynolds, Sr.; mother, Ethel Bennett Reynolds; wife, Yvonne Sturgill Reynolds, whom he married September 9, 1970 and died October 29, 2008; 3 grandchildren; 3 brothers; and 2 sisters.

A memorial gathering where his family will receive friends will be held on Friday, May 2, 2014 from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm at the McFarland & Son Funeral Home.
