James E. Mackey

James E. Mackey, 86, of Warren, died at home 12:05 AM Monday, September 4, 2006. He was born February 27, 1920 in Girard, the son of Mathew and Lena Wnio Mackey, and had lived in Warren since 1967.

Mr. Mackey had worked as a laborer for Stanley Works in Niles. He attended Over the Rainbow Day Care. He had been a volunteer with the Salvation Army and Scope. He enjoyed listening to books on tape.

Surviving is his good friend and caregiver, Betty R. Hurton of Warren. Preceding him in death are his parents; his wife, Helen Marie Serbleic, whom he married in 1945 and who died in 1959; a son, James E. Mackey, Jr.; and a half-brother, Albert Swigin.
