James R. Izant, II, 55, of Hilton Head Island, SC died Monday, October 28, 2013 at MUSC in Charleston, SC after a long illness.

Mr. Izant was born in Warren, OH on August 7, 1958, the son of the late Robert T. Izant, II and Ann Hunter Izant. James was a graduate of Youngstown State University. He was retired as the Vice President of the Trumbull Savings & Loan Company where he also served on the Board of Directors. He also served on the Board of Directors of Second Bancorp and formerly worked at Second National Bank.

While residing in Hilton Head, SC since 2000 he was a private investor and philanthropist. He was a member of St. Andrews by the Sea United Methodist Church where he served as an usher. He was a Past President of the Porsche Club of the Coastal Empire Region, board member of Christian World Adoption and The Curry Foundation, and was a driving instructor for the Porsche Club of America.

While in Warren, OH he was active with the Trumbull Art Gallery, Trumbull County Historical Society, Rebecca Williams United Methodist Community Center, Warren Area Jaycees, Warren Buckeye Club, and the Trumbull Country Club.
He enjoyed boating, family genealogy, history, music concerts, and attending Daytona with his son. He was dedicated to his family and loved spending time with them.

Jim was known for his huge smile, humor, and generosity. He genuinely cared for and made friends with people from all walks of life.
He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Natalie Schoch Izant; son, Robert T. Izant, III who is attending Winthrop College; daughter, Chloe J. Izant of Hilton Head; siblings, Elizabeth (Kent Mueller) Izant of Denver, CO, Holly (Matthew) Izant-McSharry of Riverside, CT, and Phyllis (David McInturff) Izant of Tacoma, WA; mother-in-law, Sandy Schoch of Hilton Head Island, SC.

Per Jim's request an informal celebration will be held Friday, November 1, 2013 from 6:30 - 8:30 pm at the Indigo Hall in Indigo Run, Hilton Head all friends are invited. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 2, 2013 at St. Andrews by the Sea United Methodist Church, Hilton Head with Rev. Neil Young officiating and under the direction of Sauls Funeral Home of Bluffton, and assisting, McFarland & Son Funeral Home.

Final services and burial will take place 1:00 pm, Tuesday, November 5, 2013 in Warren, Ohio at the McFarland & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Oaks officiating. Jim's family will receive friends from Noon till 1:00 pm prior to the service. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Warren.
