James F. Harris, 95 of Willamsport, Maryland died at 4:30 am on Dec. 15 at the Homewood Nursing Home. He was born on Sept.1, 1912 to Fred W. Harris and Ilo G. Crum Harris and moved to Hagerstown, Maryland with his son in 2003.

Mr. Harris was the co-owner of the Harris Super United Market on Mahoning Ave. in Austintown, Ohio. Starting at the age of 13, he first delivered groceries from a Model T Ford in a "grocery on wheels". In 1925, his father moved his long established grocery from Four Mile Run road to Austintown Corners. Friends said, "Why would you want to go way out there?" Working in the store for 45 years with his brother William, the long time "Austintown Institution" was closed in 1972.

After his marriage, February 14, 1943, to Charlotte Myers of the Fred H. Myers Jewelry Family, he moved to Warren, Ohio where he lived for 50 years. He was a member of Central Christian Church of Warren, the Central Christian Workers class and a 60 year member of the Old Erie Lodge of the Fraternal Order of Masons, Scottish Rite Lodge Council Chapter Consistory Valley of Youngstown.

He leaves a son, Fred M. of Hagerstown, Maryland, a sister, Dorothy Wood of Hubbard, Ohio, two grandchildren, Jennifer Bagwell of Woodlands, TX and Rebekah Cerame of Severn, Maryland and one great granddaughter, Lillian Cerame. He was preceded in death by his wife Charlotte, his brother and partner William C., and sisters Clara Gregg and Mary Kaiser.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 21, 2007 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, with Rev. Don Baird of Community Christian Church in North Canton officiating. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Burial Park. Friends may call 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, material contributions may be made to Central Christian Church, 2051 E. Market St., Warren, Ohio 44483.
