James H. Bock

James H. Bock, Jr. 55, of Warren, died Monday, March 2, 2009 at St. Joseph Health Center. He was born July 15, 1953 in Warren, the son of James H. and Ruth (Krause) Bock, and had lived in the Warren area all his life.

Mr. Bock was a 1971 graduate of Warren Western Reserve High School and attended Kent State University. He was president of Bock Transfer & Storage Co., having worked all his life in the family business.

He was past-president and current secretary-treasurer of the Buckeye Club; a board member and Hall of Fame member of the Ohio Association of Movers; past member of the Trumbull Country Club; co-chair of the Warren Rotary annual rose sale for over twenty years; a Paul Harris Fellowship Award recipient through the Warren Rotary; a former member of the Buckeye Investors; a member of the MASH Bash committee of the American Red Cross; and a member of Grace United Methodist Church, where he had served on the finance committee and sung in the choir. An avid fan of The Ohio State University Buckeyes, he enjoyed cruising, golfing, and games of gin rummy.

Surviving are his father and stepmother, James and Donna Bock of Warren; his wife, Bonnie (Richardson) Bock, whom he married July 2, 1999; a daughter, Heather G. Bock of Twinsburg, and her fiance, Scott G. St. John; three stepsons: Brian D. (Sarah) Rudd of Warren, Michael S. (Jennifer) Rudd of Bazetta, and Matthew T. Rudd of Warren; two grandsons, Brian D., Jr. and Hayden D. Rudd; a sister, Sharon A. Rodgers of Cortland; a niece, Kristin (Kazim) Unalan; a nephew, Eric H. (MeLinda) Stear; a great-nephew, Grant K. Unalan; and other nieces and nephews. His mother preceded him in death in 2000.

Services are 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 6, 2009 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, with Rev. Richard Hughes of Nelson United Methodist Church officiating. Friends may call 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday and 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
