Champion, Ohio - James "Jim" Edward Cummings, 75, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at his home after an extended illness. He was born in Morgantown, WV on December 10, 1937, the son of the late James Patrick and Rose Ann (Kornother) Cummings.

Jim was a graduate of University High School in Morgantown, WV and a veteran of the United States Army. After returning from the Army, Jim married Eleanor "Tommy" Nolan on September 20, 1960. They lived in West Virginia, Washington DC and finally settled in the Warren area in 1965. Jim was a Tool & Die Maker at Delphi and had retired in 2001 after 30 years of service. He was also very active in his local Union. He attended St. Williams Parish in Champion and was very active in the local senior community. Jim enjoyed traveling, golfing, working outdoors, exercising and taking care of his pets.

Jim will be sadly missed by his son, Clarence "Rick" Johnson of Colorado; son, James "Pat" Cummings of Champion; daughter, Brianna Cummings of Columbus, OH; granddaughters, Jaymie (Chris) Cheney and Jennifer (Dan) Woods, both of Colorado and great-grandson, Trevor May, also of Colorado.

He was preceded in death by his wife Eleanor "Tommy" Cummings and daughter, Renee Marie Cummings.

Family and friends may gather on Friday, January 25, 2013 from 4 to 6 PM at the McFarland & Son Funeral Home, 271 N. Park Ave., Warren, OH 44481. A funeral service will follow on Friday at 6 PM at the funeral home with Father Michael Balash officiating. Military honors by the American Legion Post #540 to follow the funeral service. Inurnment to follow at the Champion Township Cemetery at a later date.
