Isabel R. Townsend

Isabel R. Townsend, Ph.D., 62, of Warren, died Thursday, April 19, 2007 at Community Skilled Nursing Centre. She was born May 15, 1944 in Puerto Rico, the daughter of Louis and Estebania (Oliveras) Roman, and had lived in the Warren area since 2003, coming from New York City.

Mrs. Townsend received her bachelor's degree from Baruch College, and her master's and Ph.D. from Fordham University. She had worked as a psychotherapist for the City of New York. She enjoyed traveling, music, cooking, family gatherings, and all things educational.

She will be sadly missed by her three children: Helen Rodriguez Jones and Jorge D. Rodriguez, both of Warren, and Elisa Rodriguez of Phoenix, Ariz.; four grandchildren: Jennifer Lopez, Marcus A. Jones, Taylor M. Jones, and Julee E. Negron; and a brother, Louis Roman of Long Island, New York. Preceding her in death are her parents and her husband, Clyde B. Townsend, who died November 17, 1978.

Services were held Wednesday, April 25, 2007 in New York City, with burial following at Cypress Hills Cemetery.

Ohio arrangements were entrusted to McFarland & Son Funeral Services Co., with arrangements in New York entrusted to the Ortiz Funeral Home.
