Irene Roby, 88, of Warren, passed away Sunday morning, January 13, 2013, at Shepherd of the Valley in Howland. She was born April 19, 1924 in Erwin, TN, the daughter of Elmer and Arva (Hensley) Bright. She had been a long time resident of Warren.

Irene was a member of the Warren First United Methodist Church and was a participant of the Home Builders Sunday School Class. For many years, she belonged to the Monday Afternoon Club, the second oldest club in Trumbull County. She belonged to a bridge club and did a lot of entertaining at her home.

Irene worked from time to time as a church secretary. She was a wonderful seamstress, a designer, a home decorator, and a gourmet cook.
Irene enjoyed, reading, music, art, traveling, working crossword puzzles, playing Scrabble, and a good game of bridge. She was an ardent fan of the Cleveland Indians.

Irene was very devoted to her family and always sought the very best for them.

She married Warren pharmacist Calvin Roby, on May 24, 1947, who preceded her in death on July 6, 1979. She was also preceded in death by her son, Leslie "Lee" Roby on December 31, 2010.

Irene leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Jeffrey (Rose) Roby of Hudson, FL; a sister, Charlotte Saporito of Chicago, Il; a grandson; Matthew Roby of CA, and daughter-in-law, Ellen Roby of Warren.

Memorial services will be held Sunday, January 20, 2013 at 1:30pm in the Hyde Chapel of the Warren First United Methodist Church. Officiating the service will be Reverend Yesudas Devadan. Inurnment will be at Canfield Village Cemetery at a later date.
