Howard R Myers

Howard R. Myers, 84, of Warren Ohio, passed away peacefully at Trumbull Regional Medical Center in Warren on December 28, 2018.  The son of Samuel and Bernice (Lahan) Myers was born on May 22, 1934 in Warren.

Howard married Nancy Hoskin on April 2,1977 and they settled and raised their combined family in Warren. He was a employee of General Motors as an Auto Worker for many years until his retirement in 1982.

Howard was an avid NASCAR and dirt track racing fan. He would help out on the family racing team as a pit crew member as a mechanic and advisor. You would find him wrenching on cars for family and friends most anytime. He was a nature lover taking care of the birds and animals that came around his home. He liked to take short weekend getaways with his wife after his retirement and they enjoyed long Sunday rides and eating at different restaurants throughout Ohio and Pennsylvania. He enjoyed the family gatherings and outings that occurred throughout the year. His family called him the “anchor” of the family.

Memories of Howard will be carried on by his wife Nancy (Hoskin) Myers, his children; daughter, Tammy (Mario) Dellasandro of Ashley, PA; stepson, Alan (Debra) Morgan of Warren; granddaughter, Krista Snyder (Roy Mckelvey) of Mercer, PA; grandson, Brian Bator of Ashley, PA; great-grandson, Leo McKelvey of Mercer, PA; step-daughters, Mary Ellen (Michael) Ford of Franklin, TX; Cindy (Ray) Montoya of College Station, TX; Annette (Art) Perrine of Cortland; stepson, Doug Komsie of Stoneham, TX; and his other 15 grandchildren, and 17great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Robert E. Myers, brothers, David and Frank Myers, and sisters, Ruth Washington and Gloria Myers.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 3, 2019 from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 12:00 noon at McFarland-Barbee Family Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Carter of Believers’ Church officiating. The committal service will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Bristolville.
