Howard W. McRoberts, Jr., 85, of Fowler Twp. died 11:04 AM Monday, December 26, 2005 at St. Joseph Health Center in Warren. He was born August 17, 1920 in Wilkinsburg, Pa., the son of Howard W. and Janet Christison McRoberts, Sr., and had lived in Trumbull County since 1957.
Howard served in the Navy during World War II. He was known in the Warren area as Mac from Dilley's Bicycle Shop where he was employed. He had owned his own fruit farm, gunsmithing, and photography businesses. He had been active with the Mahoning Valley Gun League and the U.S. Power Squadron, where he served on their national board. He enjoyed shooting and boating and had raced cars.
Surviving Howard are three children: William J. McRoberts of Key West, Fla., Amy L. York of Fowler Twp., and Alan D. McRoberts of Warren; five grandsons: Eric Lee and Brandon Scott York, and Michael Alan, Jonathan Dale, and Dalton Ryan McRoberts; and a brother, Robert R. (Betty) McRoberts of Merrimack, N.H.
Preceding him in death are his parents and his wife, Mary C. McRoberts, whom he married January 31, 1957 and who died January 14, 2004.
