Howard R. Herczeg, 63, of Niles, died Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at home. He was born January 13, 1949 in Detroit, Mich., the son of Frank and Betty (Smith) Herczeg, and had lived in Trumbull County most of his life.
A 1967 graduate of Warren Western Reserve High School, Mr. Herczeg was veteran of the U.S. Air Force and worked as a carpenter for Petronelli Builders. He was a forty-year member of the Slovak Club, and enjoyed playing golf and watching all sports.
Surviving are his companion, Betty Pugh of Niles; a son, Tom (Michelle) Raymond and daughter Paige; a daughter, Laura Worrell and her daughters Alexis, Stella, and Shyane; a grandson, Tommy Raymond, Jr.; a sister, Pat (David) Apanovitch of Rome, Ohio; three nieces: Alex Springer, and Ashley and Melissa Bowman; and a nephew, Eric Bowman. His parents precede him in death.
A memorial service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 31, 2012 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home. Viewing and visitation will be held 10:00 to 11:00 am Saturday at the funeral home. Following the service, all of Howard's friends are warmly invited to a reception at the Slovak Club, 1707 Larchmont Ave. N.E., Warren, Ohio 44483.
