Howard E. Atkins

Howard "Eddie" Atkins, 75 of Warren, OH died April 8, 2007 at The Cleveland Clinic. Howard was born September 12, 1931 the son of James and Sarah (Frymyer) Atkins of Staunton, VA. He was an U.S. Army veteran serving in the Korean War. Howard worked as a truck driver retiring after 35 years with Leaseway Trucking. He also worked for Southwind Transportation during his retirement. He enjoyed golfing and also was a licensed pilot, owning his own airplane.

Howard is survived by his wife of 38 years, Mildred whom he married September 21, 1968. He is also survived by his sons James Atkins and Scott Klinedinst of Warren, OH, Todd Klinedinst of Wilmington, NC, a daughter Kathy Atkins-Eckert of York, PA., seven grandchildren, Chad & Danielle Atkins, Carly and Mathew Klinedinst, Haley & Riley Eckert and Leah Challenger. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Sheridan, Paul, Houston and Norman Atkins, a sister Glenna Malcom and a son Steve Atkins.

An acknowledgement of Howard's life will be held at the First United Church of Christ, 280 E. Market St. Warren, OH, Sunday April 15, 2007 at 10:45 A.M. with Rev. Gene Kraus officiating. Friends and family may visit from 7:00 - 9:00 P.M. on Wednesday April 11, 2007 at McFarland & Son Funeral Services, 271 N. Park Avenue, Warren, Ohio 44481.
