Homer M. Littleton Jr. of Niles, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2016 at 9:35 p.m. in Trumbull Memorial Hospital. He was 82.
Homer was born on April 1, 1933 in Fultz, KY, the son of the late Homer M. Sr. and Anna Pearl Littleton.
He attended Niles McKinley High School, where he excelled in basketball. Following high school, Homer enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served his country during the Korean War. During his time in the military he was stationed at Camp Carson in Colorado Springs, CO.
Mr. Littleton retired in 1986 with over thirty years of employment with LTV Steel, the former Republic Steel.
He was of Protestant faith. Homer was a talented basketball player and had the opportunity to play against the Harlem Globetrotters. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles #1476 Niles. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping, fishing, and boating. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.
Homer is survived by his wife, Jill Longberry Littleton, whom he married December 10, 1988; 2 daughters, Debbie Lewis of Niles, and Rhonda (Nick) Vitullo of Columbus, OH; a son Douglas Littleton of Mineral Ridge; 2 brothers, Bud (Mary) Littleton of Niles and Lynn Littleton of Cape Coral, FL; a sister Barbara Gilmour of Niles; 7 grandchildren, McKenzie, Madison, Hannah, Roman, Doug, Courtney and Lauren; 3 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his constant companions, Sophie & Lupey.
In addition to his parents, Homer was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Jo Garland, a grandson, Matthew Bowser, a son in law Chris Lewis, and a step son Gary Mymo Jr.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 11, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Curtis Miller, pastor of New Hope United Methodist Church.
Internment will take place in Niles City Cemetery.
