BRISTOLVILLE - Hellen M. Nims, 90, passed away Monday, October 20, 2014 at St. Joseph's Health Center. She was born on April 9, 1924 in Decker, Indiana, the daughter of the late Cadmus and Lucinda (Dean) Walker.

Hellen was a graduate of Decker High School, IN. During WWII, she was a "Rosie the Riveter" girl who riveted airplane wings to support the war effort. She had also worked at Johnson Rubber and in the dietary department at Kent State University, Trumbull Campus. She enjoyed playing cards, baking, cooking, sewing, and made the best homemade noodles. She was a member of the North Bristol Church and several bowling leagues.

Memories of Hellen will be carried on by granddaughter, Pamela (Chuck) Hunt of Warren; granddaughter, Christine Wheeler of Bristol; son-in-law, Bill Wheeler of Bristol; great-grandson, Zachary Hunt; great-granddaughter, Kayla Hunt; great-granddaughter, Kaitlyn Wheeler; great-grandson, Brett Davis; special niece, Beverly (Denny) Rissot of Goshen, IN; brother, Charles Walker of Bicknell, IN; special friends, Dave and Sue Mahan of Bristol; plus many nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, DeVere "Dee" E. Nims, whom she married June 10, 1945 and preceded her in death on March 17, 1988; daughter, Joyce Anne Wheeler; and 7 brothers & sisters.

Family will receive friends Thursday, October 23, 2014 from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, Warren and on Friday, October 24, 2014 one hour prior to the service. Services will be held at McFarland & Son Funeral Home on Friday October 24, 2014 at 11:00 am with Pastor Fred Keener officiating. Services of final committal will follow at Sager Cemetery, Bristolville.

Her family suggest contributions be made in the form of donations to American Cancer Society, 525 N. Broad St., Canfield, OH 44406.
