Helen J. Hoffman

NILES - Helen J. Hoffman, 87, passed away November 3, 2014 at Shepherd of the Valley, Niles. Mrs. Hoffman was born September 10, 1927 in Evansville, Ohio, the daughter of the late Elmer and Nora Carr Shaffer.

Helen was a member of First Christian Church of Niles. She lived her earlier years in Niles, returning in 2002, having spent her married life in Lordstown. She enjoyed being a homemaker and taking care of her family.

Memories of Helen will be carried on by three sons, Robert (Pamela) Hoffman, Thomas Hoffman, Sr., both of Lordstown, Larry Hoffman of Niles; daughter, Sandra (Lee Cash) Long of Cortland; six grandchildren, Thomas Hoffman, Jr. of Lordstown, Michael Hoffman of Anchorage, AK, Dr. Kimberly (Chris) Hoffman of Eatonton, GA, Melanie (Joseph) Filipcich of Niles, Matt Hoffman, and Keith Long of Smithfield, VA; two great-granddaughters, AdriAnn and Kayleigh Long, both of Smithfield, VA.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, John, whom she married October 5, 1945 and passed away December 22, 2001; her two brothers, Jack and Robert Shaffer.

Family and friends will be received from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, Warren. Funeral service will follow at 12:00 noon with Rev. Cynthia Klingemier officiating. Interment will follow at Lordstown Village Cemetery.
