Helen Hamercheck

Helen Hamercheck, 95, of Warren, died Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at St. Joseph Health Center. She was born July 28, 1915 in Washington County, Pa., the daughter of John and Julia (Keder) Check, and had lived in the Warren area since 1955.

A homemaker, Mrs. Hamercheck enjoyed driving her car and going to Packard and Perkins parks.

Surviving are two children: Ruth Fox and Glen Hammercheck, both of Warren; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; two sisters: Betty Spisak and Ann Pirt, both of Roscoe, Pa.; and two brothers: John Check of Irwin, Pa. and Andy Check of Tennessee. Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband, John Hamercheck, who died in 1984; and two sisters: Susan Validal and Julia Lambert.

Services are 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 19, 2011 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, with Rev. Bill Carter officiating. Interment will follow at Pineview Memorial Park. Friends may call 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
