Harry J. "Mickey" O'Brien, Jr. 84, of Warren, died Saturday, August 4, 2007 at Autumn Hills Care Center in Niles. He was born June 26, 1923 in Warren, the son of Harry J. and Ann (Williams) O'Brien Sr., and had lived in the Warren area his entire life. His grandfather, William A. Williams, was sheriff of Trumbull County 1902-1905.

Mr. O'Brien was a 1941 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and attended the Cleveland Institute of Music, where he was a piano student of Arthur Loesser. After serving in the U.S. Army during World War II, he worked at Packard Electric in the accounting department for 37 years.

He was a 50-year member of First Presbyterian Church, a 61-year member of the American Legion, and a life member of the Elks Lodge. He also belonged to the Ohio Genealogical Society, the Trumbull County Historical Society, the Bazetta-Cortland Historical Society, the Western Reserve Historical Society, the Portage County Historical Society, and the Upton Association. He was a charter member of the Natural History Museum of the Adirondacks, Tupper Lake, N.Y., and a Century Club member of Paul Smith College in Paul Smith, N.Y.

He shared his interests in genealogy with his late sister Carole O'Brien, with the help of their special friend Millie O'Dell. His other interests included gardening and music.

Surviving are his sister, Elizabeth (William) Watson of Warren; his niece, Nancy (David) Kondzich; his nephew, Thomas (Sue) Watson; and two great-nephews, Thomas and Patrick Watson. Preceding him in death are his parents; his sister, Carole O'Brien; and his brother, Richard O'Brien.

Services are private. According to his wishes, cremation will take place. Material contributions may be made either to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 4635 Richmond Rd., Suite 103, Warrensville Heights, Ohio 44128, or to the Multiple Sclerosis Services Agency, 5208 Mahoning Ave., Austintown, Ohio 44515.
