Harry D. Reiter, Sr. of Warren, died Monday, August 11, 2008 at Lake Vista Retirement Community in Cortland. He was born November 4, 1919 in Sharon, Pa., the son of Harry and Martha (Jones) Reiter, and had lived in Trumbull County for over fifty years.
Mr. Reiter was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was founder and co-owner of Trumbull Press Products. He was a hard-working man who loved life and gave much to his family and community.
Surviving are his children: Harry D. Reiter, Jr. of Sun Valley, Ariz., Lurra R. Knowles of Portland, Ore., and Rodney B. Reiter of Warren; five grandchildren: Harry Richard Reiter, Marc and Michael Sygar, and Tawnie and Jesse Reiter; four great-grandchildren: Oscar and Ruby Sygar, and Hayden and Tate Reiter; and a sister, Norma Jean (James) Daugherty of Plymouth, Ind. Preceding him in death are his parents; his wife, Ellen (Boyle) Reiter, whom he married July 4, 1941 and who died September 20, 1985; an infant daughter, Linda Rae Reiter; and three sisters, Arieta Rolfe, Martha Snodgrass, and Doris Charles.
Services are 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 18, 2008 at McFarland & Son Funeral Home, with Rev. Duane Jesse of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Cortland officiating. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Burial Park. Friends may call 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
